If there is one lesson we can learn from 2020, it’s that shit happens. And sometimes we have no control over said shit. It is what it is.
What we can control, is how we react to it. As much as so many of us have experienced hard times, for many the lockdown experience has been profoundly positive. A chance to reflect, reset and re-engage.
I know it’s more easily said than done, but I believe we should all approach 2021 with a positive outlook. If we’re open, great. If we’re not, we can plan and build rock solid foundations in the background.
If we find ourselves unable to work, think about all the things we could be doing to make our businesses stronger that we don’t have time to do in the cut and thrust of day to day business. Rebranding, systems and processes, remodelling and redecorating, SEO, connecting with past clients, refinancing debt, fine tuning printed brochures and paperwork, setting up referral partners, writing blogs, creating videos, expanding our education, industry networking… all of these things make us stronger and all can be done whether we’re open or not.
I guess what I’m saying is that we need to make the best of whatever situation the world throws at us, whether good or bad. And don’t let the Facebook doomsday posts get you down. 2021 will be whatever we, as individuals and as a community, choose to make it.
